Penguin Magic “LIVE” Expo
Just wrapped up my attendance at the Penguin Magic Live Expo in my hometown of Baltimore, Maryland and I must say this is a great platform for bridging the online magic dealers, like Penguin with their fans and customers. Meeting Mark Mason was without a doubt my highlight. He’s such an awesome creator and performer.
It would have been nice to have seen better participation from the local Baltimore brick and mortar magic shops to help build introductions to what could be their local customer base. As we all know, in this digital world, the brick and mortar magic shops struggle to compete with the popular online magic shops and here was an opportunity to showcase their local presence and instead the participation was almost absent. The one local dealer that did have a table, represented themselves so poorly, their table received very few visitors.
I only bring this up because I grew up in magic at the Yogi Magic Mart and the owner Phil Thomas was not only a great mentor, he was a showman and understood how to promote magic.
The guests for this Expo included Mark Mason, Paul Richards, Chris Smith, and Meir Yedid. All were well represented and were very generous with their time, questions, demos upon request, and of course selfies!
If Penguin comes into a city near you with this “LIVE” Expo, I would highly recommend attending.
