“Tenyo Magic Magical Picture Cards” is a popular card trick where a deck of blank cards is magically transformed into a drawing that predicts a spectator’s chosen card.
The effect involves a spectator selecting a card from a standard deck. The magician then takes a seemingly blank deck and brushes it across the table, causing four rows of cards to appear. These previously blank cards form a picture of a Japanese person (a design based on a classic ukiyo-e print by Sharaku) who reveals the identity of the chosen card. The trick is an updated version of a previous Tenyo magic item, often sold with detailed instructions.
Product Effect:
With Tenyo Magic Magical Picture Cards, the magician asks a spectator select a card. Then he shows a deck of blank cards except for a couple of drawn cards. He places these two cards on the table and brushes the white deck across the table four times as if he were mainting, and each time releasing a “stripe” of cards. There will be four rows of cards on the table using the magical picture cards, vertically placed side by side, which will magically compose a drawing (they were white before!) representing a Japanese person who predicts the chosen card!
