This Okito Fu Manchu Finger Chopper model the was sold in limited quantities by Paul Lembo and Limited Editions Magic.

Originally sold for $695.00 nearly a decade ago. I believe the total production was limited to only SIX (6) choppers initially with the potential for a final 6 post the initial run but I’m not sure they were ever produced.

Unique and clever mechanism for a chopper that combines some black art in association with a gimmicked blade some additional clever hidden mechanics.

This item is used, it shows paint imperfections and wear from age and most likely performances. Please review the pictures for reference.

Background

The Okito Fu Manchu Finger Chopper is a rare and highly collectible magic apparatus designed in the iconic “Okito style”. This stage-quality illusion is a mechanical masterpiece, standing approximately 19 inches tall and featuring a thin decorative cabinet only 1.5 inches deep.

The Illusion Performance

1. Demonstration: The magician shows a tall, ornate cabinet with three openings: a top hole, a center slot, and a bottom hole.
2. Verification: A solid metal blade is removed from the cabinet and shown to the audience. To prove it is real, items like pretzels or carrots are placed in the holes and sliced easily when the blade is pushed down.
3. The Penetration: A spectator places their fingers into the center slot, filling the space. The magician pushes the solid metal blade down, and it appears to visibly pass through the spectator’s fingers without causing any harm.
4. Repeatability: In this specific Okito version, the blade can even be passed up and down slowly through the fingers multiple times to heighten the mystery. 

Design and Collectability

• Craftsmanship: The apparatus is typically handcrafted with intricate Asian-themed decorations, consistent with the style of Theo “Okito” Bamberg and his son David “Fu Manchu” Bamberg.

• Engineering: Unlike cheap plastic “pocket” choppers, this version uses complex internal mechanics to allow a solid-looking blade to penetrate the hand while maintaining the illusion from a short distance.

Used, aged condition. NO INSTRUCTIONS, may take some time to develop full understanding of how it operates. Stands nearly 19” tall.
