Extremely Scarce 1950’s Arturo Version of the Popular Orange, Rice, & Checkers effect.

The Arturo Orange, Rice, & Checkers is a classic magic effect that has been seen many different design variations across manufacturers, all collectible that consists of the Orange, Rice, & Checkers changing places with each other within the cylinders. 

This is a very nice prop, very few imperfections, interesting design, and comes with two trays, plastic oranges, and white beans in place of rice. Please review the pictures and 360 degree views of each tube and I think you’ll find this in very collectible condition and definitely a nice add to anyone’s magic trick collection. These don’t come around very often…

Arturo was the stage name of Glenn Babbs (1921–1987), a master magic inventor and craftsman who held key positions at both Abbott’s Magic Company and MAK Magic (associated with U.F. Grant).

• Abbott’s Magic Company: Arturo served as the Superintendent of the wood and metal departments at Abbott’s, located in Colon, Michigan. He was responsible for building many of the company’s most celebrated large-scale props and illusions.
• MAK Magic (U.F. Grant): Before joining Abbott’s, he was associated for several years with U.F. Grant in Columbus, Ohio. Many of his inventions were originally marketed through Grant’s company, which later became MAK Magic.
