MAK Magic Moxahalla
Moxahalla is a classic stage magic effect created by U.F. Grant and manufactured by MAK Magic (Columbus, Ohio) from approximately 1951 through the 1990s.
Effect and History
- The Routine: A glass of clear water is poured into a tube or cabinet. Upon using the magic word “Moxahalla,” the water transforms into milk, and then can be changed back into water or other colorful variants.
- Origin: The effect originated in England during the 1940s at Harry Stanley’s Unique Magic Studios before being brought to the USA by U.F. Grant in 1951.
- Reputation: It is frequently cited by collectors as one of Grant’s most beautiful and “messiest” effects due to the use of liquids and elaborate apparatus.
Collectability
- Manufacturer: Primarily sold by MAK Magic, the company founded by U.F. Grant.
- Availability: Due to its age and unique nature, it is rarely seen in modern performances but can occasionally be found on specialty auction sites or vintage magic dealers.
Condition: In very collectible condition with several minor imperfections to the canister and tube. The faked milk glass seems to reflect the most wear. Please review the pictures for more clarity. Includes a copy of the instructions.
