Rings-N-Things Bubble Up Passe Passe Bottles

Very Rare & Highly Collectible

From the original Rings-N-Things (RNT) Magic Manufacturer, prior to the reorganization of the new and current Rings-N-Things 2 (RNT2) Magic is this extremely rare set of Bubble Up Passe Bottles. The Rings ‘N Things (RNT) Bubble Up Passe Bottles is a highly collectible, premium stage magic apparatus originally manufactured by Mike Brazill’s Rings ‘N Things in the late 1970s and 1980s. Meticulously crafted from spun aluminum, this vintage set is widely considered by collectors to be among the finest iterations of the classic transposition routine ever produced.

Bubble Up Passe Bottles Overview (Courtesy of Martin’s Magic)

One of the finest set of Passe-Passe Bottles you’ll see, and if you appreciate quality in magic, you’ll appreciate the Rings ‘N Things brand of quality. The bottle, formed of spun aluminum and beautifully anodized, is the very-latest in Passe-Passe effects. You show a glass and a – bottle, actually fill the glass with liquid from the bottle, then cover the glass and bottle with separate aluminum cylinders. When you lift the cylinders, the bottle and glass have changed places. Switch them back and forth, too.

The Liquor Bottles version were more plentiful than the Bubble-Up (7-Up Bottles) but both sets are very rare, meticulously made and are minor miracles. The bottles are pure perfection. The tubes are typical Rings ‘N Things quality with no seams to be found, rolled rims and accents, Brazill’s exclusive epoxy-baked miracle finish providing protection that will out-live you, realistic labels, basically they’re perfectly made. You won’t find any passe passe bottles better than these.

Product Overview & Design – Bubble Up Passe Bottles

  • Construction: Made from high-quality, finely spun aluminum featuring rolled rims, accents, and seamless nesting covers.
  • Finishes: Released in premium anodized variants, an exclusive epoxy-baked finish, and a highly sought-after “Bubble Up” (7-Up style) replica set alongside standard liquor styles.
  • The Comedy Set Advantage: Unlike standard two-bottle sets, the RNT Comedy version includes three nesting bottles alongside two cylinders. This design allows a liquid-pouring feature out of the innermost bottle to prime a real drinking glass before the transpositions begin.

Background

Rings-N-Things, also known as RNT II or RNT2, is a legendary American magic manufacturer. The magic industry recognizes Rings-N-Things as the world’s largest producer of professional cups and balls and custom metal magic apparatus. In 1971, Mike Brazill founded Rings-N-Things in St. Louis, Missouri. It built its elite reputation on hand-spun metalware, classic Chinese Linking Rings, and highly coveted close-up props. Donnie Buckley acquired the brand, its tooling, and manufacturing rights after decades of ownership changes; he now runs the company.

Signature Magic Apparatus

  • Cups and Balls Sets: They are world-renowned for high-end, heavy-gauge cups like the iconic Paul Fox Cups (which revolutionized performance with their rounded-top design), Ramsay Cups, Gazzo Cups, and Mendoza Combo sets.
  • Chop Cups: Premium mechanical single-cup routines, including the pocket-sized Don Alan Mini Chop Cup and the heavyweight street-style Kozmo Chop Cup.
  • Magician’s Break-Down Wands: Elite, multi-piece performance wands lathed from exotic hardwoods like Ebony, Cocobolo, and Bocote, accented with solid brass or faux-ivory tips.
  • Specialty Metal Props: Hard-to-find premium utility items like the Lippincott Ring Box (crafted from cherry or Gabon ebony with precision dovetail joints and hidden magnets), Chrome/Nickel Bells of St. Mary’s, and the aluminum Zombie Floating Ball.

Acquisition Details

By far it’s my opinion Rings-n-Things (RNT) Magic Manufacturer developed the finest set of Passe-Passe Bottles. If you appreciate quality in magic, you’ll appreciate the Rings ‘N Things brand of quality. The bottles, formed of spun aluminum and beautifully anodized for their age has very minimal signs of imperfections. An exception to consider, in reviewing the pictures, you’ll notice some unevenness of how the label decals were placed.

This fine set is from my personal collection acquired in the early 1990’s. It has been stored away for many years and is ready for your performance or magic collector shelf.

Bottles measure 11.25 tall, 4″ in diameter, tubes measure 11.75 tall, a copy of instructions are included. You’ll need to supply your own glass or tumbler.

The original RNT bottle sets are very scarce, especially this Bubble 7UP Passe series; almost impossible to find a set for sale. Highly recommend you grab this while you can, who knows when another set will magically appear!

Condition Disclosure for Rare & Vintage Collectible Magic Apparatus

PHOTOS

Please review all listing photos carefully, as they are an important part of the item description. The photos are intended to show the overall visual condition of the apparatus, including possible imperfections, paint quality, decals if applicable, shelf wear, performance wear, and age-related characteristics.

LABELS

MagicTrickCollection.com does not rely on broad condition labels such as “good,” “very good,” “excellent,” or “mint” for vintage and antique magic effects. These terms can be subjective and may mean different things to different collectors. Instead, we believe clear photos from multiple angles provide the most accurate way to evaluate condition without revealing the working secrets of the effect.

OLD VERSUS NEW

Items listed under Rare & Vintage Collectible Magic may range from 10 to 100 years old or more. These are not new magic props. They may show signs of age, handling, storage, repairs, fragility, paint loss, decal wear, or prior performance use.

If your intent is to perform with the item, please understand that some vintage apparatus may require careful handling, adjustment, and practice. This disclosure is provided to help ensure buyers understand they are purchasing a vintage collectible magic item with age, history, and character—not a newly manufactured prop.
