MAK Magic Day Lite Production Tubes

The MAK Magic Day Lite Production Tubes, also known as the “Wonderful C-Thru Cylinders,” are a vintage stage magic production effect.

Created by U.F. Grant and manufactured by MAK Magic in the 1970s and 1980s, MAK Magic Day Lite Production Tubes allows a magician to produce a large load of items from two seemingly empty, nested tubes.

The Day Lite Production Tubes effect:

• The audience can see convincingly through both tubes, and the taller, outer tube is often lifted to show the polished metal interior of the second, convincing them that the tubes are empty.
• After the tubes are nested, the magician produces a large quantity of silks, streamers, or other items from within them. 

Key features:

• Method: The design is a variation on the classic “Square Circle” production effect, but it uses cylindrical tubes instead of square ones. 
• Performance: The illusion is designed to be highly deceptive. The nested tubes are shown as obviously empty, with the polished interior adding to the illusion.
• Design: Older versions from the 1970s often came with instructions from U.F. Grant and sometimes included a base.
• Vintage item: Because they are a vintage magic prop, they are not typically available new. They are sought after by collectors and performers and can sometimes be found at online auctions and vintage magic stores.
