The Effect and Routine

1. The Setup: The magician introduces a stencil-painted wooden cutout figure of a rabbit holding a miniature deck houlette in its paws.
2. The Card Rise: Spectators select cards from a deck, which are placed into the houlette. As the audience calls for them, the correct cards physically rise out of the pack.
3. The Absent-Minded Climax: When the final card is called, nothing happens—the rabbit has seemingly “forgotten” the card or how to do the trick.
4. The Punchline: The magician feeds the rabbit “brain food” in the form of a wooden carrot. This triggers a surprise mechanism where the rabbit’s ears pop straight up or collapse back in mock surprise, and the final card successfully appears with a major laugh from the audience.
