Shoji Naruishi, widely known as The Amazing Shoji, is a talented young magician from New York City who gained national fame as a contestant on Season 16 of America’s Got Talent (AGT) in 2021. At just nine years old during his audition, he captivated the judges and audience with his close-up magic, specifically using coins and playing cards.
Career Highlights and Background
- Early Inspiration: Shoji was inspired to take up magic at the age of seven after seeing a simple card trick performed by his cousins in Los Angeles.
- AGT Journey: During his AGT audition, he received “Yes” votes from all four judges (Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum, Sofia Vergara, and Simon Cowell). Although he was eliminated during the deliberation round, his performance went viral, amassing over 60 million views on YouTube.
