UF Grant Chink Cans

U.F. Grant’s Chink Cans (also known as Grant’s Chinese Cans)
A vintage magic apparatus first introduced around 1946. Created by Ulysses Frederick Grant, a prolific magic inventor whose business later became MAK Magic.
The Effect
The magician presents two metal cans (often decorated with Chinese-style motifs). The magician pours rice into one of the cans and inverts the contents onto the other can. The cans are moved back and forth and when separated the rice is seen to have doubled in quantity! The mouth of the can that is still full of rice is covered with a piece of newspaper. The paper is broken and to the audience’s surprise, the rice disappears and a large load of silks is produced!
Condition
Used, chrome shows some imperfections for either age or use. Overall, the chrome shines well and the oriental lettering not often found adds a nice display or performance quality to the effect. Includes original instruction sheet and catalog clipping.
